Chargers vs. Raiders Week 8 Preview
Chargers O-Line play – The Raiders dominated the line play in week 1, will the Chargers do something about it this time around? With the exception of McNeil and Dielman the Chargers O-Line is undependable and inconsistent. The Chargers have been keeping in Maleuna to help blitz pick up, but the O-Line still isn’t making reads fast enough. I’ll be looking to see if they continue to try and pull Vasquez and if Clary can contain
Malcom Floyd – With Asomugha covering Jackson and the Raiders defense working hard to keep Gates out of the game, Floyd will be a wild card. Getting his first start this week with the demotion of Chambers, M80 is ready to make some things happen and will need to to stay in the starting line up. Keep in mind the Chargers run a lot of different formations and Floyd was taking a lot of snaps previously.
The Chargers OLBs – This is a great opportunity to Merriman to take off. Last week Phillips had an amazing second half with two sacks and rushing a Cassell throw that ended in an INT for Gregory. I would look to see the Lights Out dance debut today!
Zach Miller – Opposing TEs have given the Chargers fits over the past few seasons and this season it is no different. Miller tends to play very well vs. the Chargers averaging over 70 yards per contest. The Chargers will be without Kevin Burnett the teams best coverage LB, so you should expect to see Dobbins, Ellison, Gregory and even Jammer on Miller today.
Bold Prediction – LT rolls for his first 100 yards game of the day and the Chargers win 35-10
Check out what my friend Craig and Chris at 619sports.net have to say about the game in their weekly preview.
