Fantasy Football Week 11: Start/Sit

Fantasy Start/Sit Week 11

We had another solid week here at Start Sit. Our #1 start for the week, Joe Flacco, lit up the Raiders for 40 points. Jacquizz Rodgers and Mike Williams both struggled, notching just 7 points a piece. On the flip side, we were dead on with Andre Johnson struggling, and Vick played poorly before he was knocked out with injury. Lastly, Kyle Rudolph snapped out of his funk, and messed up our sit record by notching 15 points.

Andy Dalton QB Cincinnati Bengals- Quietly, Andy Dalton has put up a Top 10 fantasy season so far at the Quarterback position, including his impressive four touchdown performance against the Giants last week.  Now, he has the porous Kansas City defense facing him this week, and I love all Bengals offensive players this week. Dalton should have a field day, and put up at least 20 points with ease.

I like Dalton this week more than Philip Rivers, Joe Flacco, and Matt Schaub.

Rashard Mendenhall RB Pittsburgh Steelers- This week finally looks like the week that Mendenhall retakes his spot at the top of the running back depth chart, and it couldn’t come at a better time if you are a Steelers fan. With Big Ben likely out this week, the Steelers will be relying heavily on Mendenhall out of the backfield. Combine that with the fact that this Baltimore’s running defense isn’t what it used to be, and I love Mendenhall to get a ton of yards on a ton of touches.

This week, bench guys like Michael Turner, Shonn Greene, and Mikel Leshoure in favor of Mendenhall.

Darrius Heyward-Bey WR Oakland Raiders- Heyward-Bey is one of the most inconsistent big play threats in all of football. He will put up a 20 point game in one game, than put up a 2 point stinker like it’s his job. This should be one of the former games for this former Terrapin, as he has the Saints defense coming to town. In a game that should be a shootout, Heyward-Bey should find plenty of room in space and make some big plays.

Put Heyward-Bey in at WR3 this week over Brandon Lloyd, Michael Crabtree, and Anquan Boldin.

Dez Bryant WR Dallas Cowboys- Despite the off the field issues, and his inability to find the endzone very much, Bryant has put up solid numbers so far this year. Jason Witten is reemerging as Romo’s favorite target again, but Bryant is still Romo’s favorite option at receiver. Having said that, Bryant should be blanketed this week by one of the best cover corners in the game, Joe Haden.  Romo will have plenty of other options to go to, so expect a quiet game from Dez this week.

I like a bunch of guys more than Bryant, including Jordy Nelson, Danny Amendola, and Andre Johnson.

Vernon Davis TE San Francisco 49ers- Vernon Davis always gets all of the attention from the opposing defense, and this season has shown that more than ever. Davis has put up two 0 points games, and while I don’t think he will get shutout this week, I expect the Bears defense to key on him all day. Combine that with the fact that Alex Smith might not play, and I hate Davis this week.

At the tight end position, go with Greg Olsen, Brent Celek, and Aaron Hernandez over Davis this week.

Matt Forte RB Chicago Bears- This pick is very much along the lines of Davis. Forte is the main guy in Chicago, and assuming Cutler is out this week, they will rely heavily on him. The problem is, he’s going up against San Fran, one of the best running defenses. They will know that Forte will be the main guy on Monday, so I expect them to crowd the box and contain Forte throughout.

Bench Forte in favor of Willis Mcghaee, Ryan Matthews, and Marcel Reese this week.
